Course details
During the two days we will cover round basketmaking techniques using
a variety of brown willows. With a maximum of six places on the
course, there will be plenty of time for individual attention. There
will be a choice of baskets to make, from platters to small shoppers.
If there is something in particular you would like to make please
contact me beforehand to discuss.
Cost: £70 per person
which includes materials.
What to bring
-
Drinks (tea/ coffee/ squash) and
biscuits will be provided during the course but bring a packed
lunch. Do let me know if you have any special dietary needs.
-
Bring sharp secateurs, if you
have them. I will have basket-making tools to use over the two days
but, if you have any, do bring them along. We will spend time
discussing tools, how to use them and I will also be able to give
you details of where to buy them.
-
Wear comfortable, warm clothes,
there is heating in the hall but the willow dries out quickly in
heat so we cannot have the temperature too warm.
-
I will have plenty of
basket-making books for you to see but you may want to bring a note
pad to make your own notes during the course.
-
A digital camera is also useful
if you want to take pictures of techniques
